Responsible Tourism
Preserving the mountains for generations to come.
1. Our Commitment
At GloventTreks, we believe that the beautiful mountain environments we operate in are a privilege to visit, not a right. We are fiercely committed to sustainable tourism practices that minimize our environmental impact and maximize the positive benefits for local communities.
2. Leave No Trace
We strictly adhere to the principles of Leave No Trace on all our treks:
- Pack it in, pack it out. We bring all our non-biodegradable waste back to the base.
- We use eco-friendly soaps and detergents.
- We stick to established trails to prevent erosion.
- We respect wildlife and view them from a distance.
3. Community Support
We believe in empowering the local communities that host us. We achieve this by:
- Hiring local guides, cooks, and porters at fair wages.
- Purchasing supplies from local markets whenever possible.
- Supporting local conservation and education initiatives.
- Respecting local customs, traditions, and sacred sites.
4. Trekker's Code of Conduct
We ask all our clients to join us in our commitment by following our Trekker's Code of Conduct. This includes respecting local culture, avoiding single-use plastics, and following the guidance of your trek leader regarding environmental protection.
